not to forget Afghanistan: 22 years after Rambo III

Brief history: the Russo - Afghan

In late 1977 and early 1978, Afghanistan was the scene of several demonstrations and uprisings of the people, which were intended to seek an improvement of social conditions and civil rights of the Afghan population. The level of tension rose in April of 1978 when Haybar MA, one of the main leaders of the Popular Democratic Party of Afghanistan
[...] April 27, 1978 the PDPA called the people and its militant insurgency in general and a few hours, was
revolution [...] Thanks to this exceptional riot of people in a few days, the revolutionary government, led by N. Mohammed Taraki, took the helm of the country, giving rise to the Democratic Republic Afghan
.[...] In addition to reforms in economic policy, the new government forced the men to trim his beard, the women not to wear the burqa, while girls could go to school and were no longer the subject of economic exchange in arranged marriages
.[...] It also started a campaign for literacy and mass education and rural schools and clinics were built.
The forced secularization of Afghan society soon led to a clash between the PDPA regime and the local religious authorities, who began to encourage jihad mujahideen against the "godless atheistic communist regime"
In the new Afghan policy being intervened even the United States of America. The Carter administration immediately felt the need to support opponents of Taraki [...] On July 3, 1979 Carter signed the first directive for the organization of aid and economic warfare secrets to the Afghan mujahideen. In practice, the CIA would have created an international network involving all Arab countries to supply the mujahideen with money, weapons and volunteers for the war. Base of the operation would be Pakistan, where they were so well built training camps and recruitment centers.
