All eyes on Italy: La Repubblica, the Italian foreign press and capitalism Never before in recent months the international press has discussed, argued and speculated on the particular history of our country. Separately, some warm and concise statement on issues referred to above the increasingly inept and moribund opposition, almost all the newspapers (and TV), until a few weeks ago, have more or less silent, as well as on those events, even on what you think of us as well national boundaries. Only one newspaper has denounced what was happening and reported the international news media: The Republic of the De Benedetti Group. That Group, for heading the owner Carlo De Benedetti, has denied being a 'leftist', as the Premier has accused in recent months, although Charles had participated in the 2002 meeting to launch the association 'Freedom & ; Justice '(libertaegiustizia.it) along with much of the middle class, intellectuals and industrialists of the left (the La7 journalist Gad Lerner, Umberto Eco, Enzo Biagi, a lawyer Franzo Grande Stevens of the Agnelli clan, the financier and former DS Guido Rossi, Professor Umberto Veronesi, the constitutional Galante Garrone, former president of RAI and the editor of Il Sole 24 Ore, the former director general of Confindustria Innocent Cipolletta). This can be understood by scrolling the signatures gathered by the Republic to support the appeal by the trio of law-Cordero Rodotà-Zagrebelsky Freedom of Information (reached over 400 thousand signatures so far): apart from the few members of the Italian left a bit 'pimps (Dario Franceschini, Giovanna Melandri, Matteo Colaninno) and in some cases now out of it (Fausto Bertinotti, Sergio Cofferati) no other politician of the Democratic Party has responded to the call of the three lawyers. Continuing to read between the signatures we see that as well as esteemed personality of the show and the Italian and international culture (so far with 7 Nobel Laureates), also 16 heads of major international newspapers are displayed directly supporting the appeal with their signature. Of these, only two signatures are directors who work in the center-right newspapers (the Financial Times and Murdoch's Times). The rest of the signatures are: 3-of-center newspapers (Le Soir, El Pais, The Indipendnt), 3-of-center liberal newspapers (The Guardian, Die Zeit, Le Nouvel Observateur), two liberal newspapers (the Novaya Gazeta and Russian Ogoniok of which we remember the journalist Anna Politkovskaya assiduous opponent of Putin and killed 'mysteriously'), a Social Democratic newspaper (Periodico de Catalunya), a liberal newspaper (Süddeutsche Zeitung), a social-liberal newspaper (Gazeta Wyborcza) and Finally, a left-wing newspaper (Liberation). In essence, most of the political support comes from the wing liberal center-left. Taking into account only the most important text is among these, those who have written at least two articles you reach 294 items whose geographical origin is: 45% United Kingdom (Daily Telegraph, The Guardian, The Economist, The Financial Times, The Times, The Economist, The Independent, The Observer, BBC online, etc..), 22% Spain (El Mundo Italy's RCS property, El Pais, El Comercio, La Nacion, El Periodico, ABC etc..), 11% France (Le Figaro, Le Monde, Liberation, L'Express, etc..) 7% United States (The New York Times Woshington Post, The Wall Street Journal, The Time etc..) 5% Germany (Bild, Die Sueddeutsche Zeitung, Spiegel, etc.,), 1% Australia (The Australian, The Sydney Morning Herald), 8% rest of the world. Of these 49% can be attributed to head right or center, 33% tested in the left (liberal, social democratic), 7% to newspapers of the center (the remaining 11% is not obviously political stance). In addition it is good to point out that about one-fifth of the articles (18%) comes from newspapers owned by Murdoch (The Wall Street Journal, The Sun, The Times etc.), and also owns SKY main opponent / competitor of Premier Silvio Berlusconi or better as an entrepreneur.
The above data show, therefore, a mismatch of fund that is not be underestimated for the purposes of our analysis, because about 49% of right-wing newspapers, only 2 wanted to participate in the call?
hypothesis could be that the sole purpose of certain publishing companies (and financial) is to destabilize our government and perhaps not only the current one. Republic for its part, the momentum by giving a key to more close to their own purposes, just showing a sudden interest in Italy's image abroad.
